This week we can't deny it: these Island Runaways are very glad it's Friday. Looking back on our photos from Caribbean islands like Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Grenada, Zickie and I can't help but feel a little nostalgia for vacation time, when work seemed a million miles away.
Which brings me to this Friday's Happy Hour post and our anthem for today. You know the song? Here's a hint:
In case you're not familiar with this island-time mantra, it comes from the song "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" made (very) famous by Alan Jackson and the originator of Margaritaville and all things Trop Rock, Jimmy Buffett himself.
"Pour me something tall and strong
Make it a hurricane, before I go insane."
By the way, have you ever tried a hurricane cocktail? It would go very well with this view.
"It's Only Half Past Twelve," they croon,
"But I don't care. It's Five O'Clock Somewhere."
Sometimes, it's just been one of those days -- or one of those weeks. In case you've had one of those weeks, too, we're sharing a video of Alan and Jimmy singing this song. I have to admit, the blue skies and boat cutting through the sea look very appealing this afternoon.
Cheers, fellow island lovers! We hope you have a terrific weekend.
